The first socialist state government in India was formed in 1954 in Travancore-Cochin by the Praja Socialist Party. The book seeks to trace the emergence and growth of the socialist movement in Travancore-Cochin and evalute the performance of the state government. Thus it fulls a major gap in the history of the Left politics in Kerala.
